Thank you to all the women who paved new paths, courageously and relentlessly challenged norms that didn’t serve women, ruffled feathers, got burnt under the spotlight and helped achieve the freedom that we all enjoy today. There is still a long way to go, and we all can do our bit by calling out patriarchy, not accepting behaviour that makes us feel less, speaking up, standing up for ourselves and showing our sons and daughters how it is done in our own style! Remember how happy and full-of-gratitude you feel ? It’s the same. This is a long term, continual strategy to increase credibility and exceed expectations at work. So, what does this look like ? 👉 It could mean promising to deliver your project in 2 weeks but putting in extra effort to deliver 2 days earlier. 👉 It could mean promising to deliver 2 features in your product, but adding in extra features that delight the customers. When you meet only what you promised, you still meet expectations. But if you are able to deliver more, you are exceeding expectations. 🌟 Tips: 🌟 ✅Set realistic but conservative goals and expectations, considering factors that are in your control. 🚫 What you promise and what you deliver cannot be vastly apart. You cannot say you need 2 weeks and deliver the next day. It is viewed as a gross underestimation of the effort, and doesn’t reflect well on you. Makes sense ? For a better part of my corporate life, I have been an over promiser 😂 My tendency is to promise big and promise tomorrow, which never helps. I wish someone had given me this tip earlier.
